- Try to understand basic concepts behind various phenomenons. UPSC does not ask such simple questions but understanding these basic phenomenon helps in understanding other S&T related topics and technical aspects of physical geography.

- Look for various Seas, passes, bays, islands in East Asia.
- Location of important cities and their N-S, E-W orientation.
- Rivers of South East Asia.
