- It was founded in 1967
- It is responsible for the mining and milling of uranium ore in India.
- At present, the UCIL has uranium mining projects are in Jadugora, Bhatin, Narwapahar, Turamdih and Banduhurang in Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh respectively.
