National Mission for Manuscripts – UPSC Prelims

National Mission for Manuscripts(NMM):
  • The National Mission for Manuscripts was launched in February 200 under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India.
  • Objective: Is to publish rare and unpublished manuscripts so that the knowledge enshrined in them is spread to researchers, scholars and the general public at large.
  • National Nodal Agency for the Mission: Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.
  • Under this scheme, reprinting of 108 volumes of Mongolian Kanjur has been taken up by the Mission.
